This policy explains how HardcoreDebug ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you visit hardcoredebug.com (the "Site").
Summary
- HAR files never leave your browser. The HAR Analyzer, JWT Decoder and Base64/URL Encoder run entirely on your device. We never receive the files or text you paste.
- The MTR tool sends the hostnames or IPs you enter to our server so the test can run.
- We keep basic visit logs (IP address, approximate location, page, browser) for security and traffic statistics.
- We use Google AdSense to show ads and may use Google Analytics. Both use cookies, as described below.
Information we collect
Visit logs
When you visit, our server records your IP address, the page you opened, your browser's user-agent and the time. We look up an approximate country and city from the IP address using ip-api.com. We use this to keep the Site secure, prevent abuse and understand traffic. We keep visit logs for up to 12 months.
Network diagnostics
When you run an MTR test, the target you entered and your IP address are processed to run the test and enforce rate limits. The target's IP may be looked up with ip-api.com to show its network owner and location. We don't store test results.
Comments
If you comment on a blog post, we store the name you give (optional), your comment, your IP address and your user-agent. These are used for moderation and spam prevention. Approved comments are public.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
Cookies
We set a small number of cookies ourselves: a session cookie used for security (form protection) and a preference for light or dark mode stored in your browser. Third-party services set their own cookies, as described below.
Advertising: Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message, provided through Google's certified consent management platform, before personalized ads are used.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used, for example which pages are popular. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as pages visited and device type. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
How we use information
- To operate, secure and improve the Site and tools
- To prevent abuse, such as rate-limiting network tests and filtering spam comments
- To understand which content is useful
- To show advertising that funds the Site
We do not sell personal information.
